Making this was a true labor of love. In every sense of the word. Hope you like it! As you can see I am getting maximum use out of the guy working the wheel. This is the 2nd video he’s in. And might not be the last!

I am sitting here crying. You see, Mary Ann, I am European, born and raised and lived there most of my life and unforeseen circumstances have left us stranded here now. Our children are here also. But I am homesick. So terribly homesick that seeing the video
makes me want to howl. Love it. Please let me know what music you are playing. I am not familiar with this piece and it is hauntingly perfect for the video. Thank you so much for sharing this fabulous treasure.

Well, this pretty much seals it for me. Next year, 2014, Italy it is!! Thank you so much MaryAnn for this wonderful trip! At some point will you please post the stores that you went to so I can add them to my itinerary. Hugs!

Just splendid, Mary Ann Spielberg! I, like Sabina am also weepy, will attribute half of this to stunning cinematography and half of this to an unbearable longing to see Italy. I was set to go my senior year in college (hint, Jimmy Carter was president) and had to cancel, am still hoping to reschedule….
Life goes on.

You are so gifted with a sense of truly SEEING. All the glint and grit. The arthritic grandmas and belted fashionistas. The weathered wheel and knotted shimmer of ribbon. An extraordinary capture of an ordinary Venetian day.

Aha! Genius idea! I thought I would try a techno free day a week, but this is a much more achievable idea! I SLEEP with my iPad! Very bad!
Finally managed to upload my journal to Vimeo, take a look if you so desire.
Enjoy your self directed days!

Absolutely Amazing! Did anyone else notice the elderly fur-coated lady with the red-coated escort was wearing two different shoes. The heels are definetly two thicknesses. I so love the quirky. Makes me want to have coffee with her…bet she has a story or two to tell!
Shirley says
You captured such a wonderful “feeling” of Venice! The usual travel videos concentrate on the big attractions, and you definitely focused on the small things that make it so MAGICAL! The video quality, the editing, and the music are all perfect!!
MORE, MORE!!! Pleeaassee!
Sue says
This video was way over the top…the music, too went along so well with the picture of the everyday movement in Venezia. You have captured so much more than my ordinary camera did when I was in Venice for 2 short days! Hopefully, this October I will do better. And after seeing this amazing video, I am more than anxious to return and you can bet I’ll have my Ticket to Venice journal in hand, too!!! Thank you Ms. Moss for all of the extra goodies that come with this class!
Gwen Delmore says
thanks for posting the name of the music, perfectly matched to the video. I can’t say enough good stuff about every aspect of this class. You are taking it WAY over the top! LOVE,LOVE,LOVE.

LOVE!!!! L O V E!!!!!! LOVE!!!! what else is there to say. Because of you I now carry Venice in my heart. I’ve loved everyone of your journey’s Mary Ann and I am sure I will love the many more in your future but this Venice experience that you’ve shared has stolen my heart, it’s nestled itself in a very special place. Not a day has gone by that I don’t think of it through your eyes. Imagine the boats on the canals, people just living their lives as they’ve done for centuries in a magnificent place surrounded by water, I imagine the hustle and bustle of the tourists all clamoring to capture a piece of Venice for themselves and then there is you, knowing the importance of slowing down, following the ebb and flow and understanding you don’t have to see it all; that savoring what crosses your path is all that matters and seeing it with your heart and capturing it there. Did you know you have a very powerful camera in your heart; that the pictures it takes resonates with so many of us. That sweet Mary Ann is a gift and you are so lucky to have it. SIGH going to go watch the video again as it’s a great way to move forward into my day.

What a beautiful blend of video that dances to the slow rhythm of the haunting music. If I ever visit that wonderful place I can see I’ll have to find a fur coat in some antique shop. Though I’m not sure I’d ever make it all the way up those steps to cross the canals. I’d better start saving money, so I can pay a handsome gondolier to carry me across. Thanks for this special treat, Mary Ann.

well, I had my husband listen to it and he just sat there….so very quietly and I knew he had a lump in his throat and a longing to cross the Atlantic right there and then. Thank you both for the music and your wonderful class.
Jane Bumar says
How do I put what is in my heart? Your film renders Venice, now a few days back in LA, a pearlescent, shimmery dream. A phantom, not quite real, but not quite passed either – it feels as though every drop of water, and every whisper is somehow dancing on the edge of memory. This is your best work yet – haunting, transcendent, you are beyond artist – you have become a poetess of the visual form. Thank God or whoever for Mary Ann Moss.
Lisa Hoffman says

This was wonderful! I am going to Venice this year – God willing – and this has totally made me anticipate the trip even more! At the end of the video it says January 5, 2012? Is it 2012 or 2013?
Cat says
I agree with what everyone else said so I’ll keep this short. I’ve got two words for this video…too short!! Thank you.

Lovely. Just lovely. Your taste in music is fabulous as always. I will never travel the same way now, having seen this faraway city through your eyes. You know how to really appreciate where you are. Actually, I am going to try to remember to see my surroundings with the love and appreciation you evidenced here, as often as possible. There is no reason my everyday can’t be this lovely. I live in a wonderful city in a beautiful part of the world afterall. I’m so grateful to have been able to share in your journey in this way.
