I remember leaving and my heart was heavy. But thank you so much for taking us on this awesome trip. I particularly enjoyed the video going along with the gondola, learning about part of your journal and slowly being inspired to start on mine. I loved the huge huge library with all the books, cats and ephemera and will need to go and see it without a doubt. Thank you so much for taking us along. Have a safe trip home and see you very soon.

I just love how you start your journal while you’re traveling, but you don’t worry about doing every single little thing while you’re gone. What a completely freeing idea! Plus then you get to re-live Venice again and again every time you sit down to work and finish it up. This has definitely changed the way I’m thinking about documenting my travels…

It’s been a lovely trip, and thanks to you Mary Ann, I now I know more about Venice than I ever did before. I’m going to miss our walks and rides in this little part of the world that has captured so many hearts. Looking forward to your return and hopefully more tales from your trip.

This may seem completely obvious to everyone else but I was wondering if you could tell us a little about what you write about in your journal beyond just where you went and when. There is so much writing in your journals-any tips and ideas? Thanks!

jamie i write all sorts of things. observations, daily events, thoughts, feelings. regular stuff i write in my writing journal but with a heavier emphasis on details of my day.
