Mary-Ann, all your other videos have been just fine but this one has a banner saying: “The creator of this video has not given you permission to embed it on this domain. This is a Vimeo Plus feature.”
Pat P says
I was able to click on “All Along the Grand Canal”, type in the password on Vimeo and see it that way. Hope all can see it. It is the most awesome video ever. You are quite the videographer, Ms Moss. Can’t believe the lack of people. December is definitely the time to be there!
P.S. – you have to stay another month. We haven’t seen nearly enough!
Stephen du Toit says
Thanks so much for that work-around – it’s a great video!

To be taken so Beauty-Fully around what could be the least wheelchair-accessible city on our Earth, is really really really sweet.
And to be serenaded so Peacefully!
Beyond the Beyond.
Ahhhhhhh.
Thank you.

Oh my! What a gorgeous Christmas present. xoxo The architecture is so stunning and the glass work a feast for the eyes and so much more. Loved the gondoliers red and white scarf and the Captain’s handling of the wheel…yikes! Thank you.

Wow! That was fabulous! The music was perfect. You are such a master – i was so impressed that you are half way around the world and can still do a video WITH music! That video was really a special treat. I got a much better feel of what is like. Thank you!
Claire says
Oh my! Such a delight to watch as my Christmas here in Maryland comes to an end. I so love this arm side traveling. It takes me away with you so wonderfully. Hope your Christmas has been fabulous!

I had the same “do not have permission” message until I read Pat P’s message and clicked on the “All Along the Grand Canal”, link and typed in the password. Thank you Pat.
It was a lovely video and such calming music, just what I needed after spending all morning in the kitchen and all afternoon trying to fulfill all the requests the little children of our family’s ask for over and over. It’s been a lovely Christmas, but I’m old and tired and needed the calm and quiet of this video, thank you MAM.
Lauren says
Oh, this was such a perfectly beautiful way to finish off Christmas Day. Thank you SO much for taking us along.
barbara says
i finally figured out how to access the video….thank you, thank you, thank you. this was a christmas present that no one but YOU could have given me! beautiful music, great filming. all those buildings so close to the water, made me wonder if there is ever flooding?
again thanks for taking me on the ride along the grand canal.
Gloria says
I’m snuggled in bed and just finished watching the video. The serenity of the journey seems such a fitting way to end Christmas day. Thank you, and Merry Christmas to you and to all.
Susie LaFond says
Enchanting and ever so sweet. I couldn’t ask for a more enjoyable way to end a very long day, in fact I am going to go watch it again since everyone has now turned in for the night and it’s just me and the pooch here…all cozy and tucked into our jammies. 🙂
fiona says
Really enjoyed that. you are a great documentary film maker! and I so want to boot Venice in the winter.
fiona says
How did go to become boot in autocorrect?
robin says
Lovely, lovely! I could feel my body relax and my soul open wide as I listened to the music and enjoyed floating on the water with you! What was the music, please share 😉
Rhonda says
Beautiful! Really brought me back… just love the waterways there! Your videos with the winter skies and subtle colors have the feeling of many old postcards. I love that you are there at a time without so many crowds so we can really enjoy the sights!
Not sure how many more days you have left there so don’t forget to get out to Burano! It will be like going from Kansas into Oz when you see all the colors!
Jan says
What a beautiful video, Mary Ann. Thank you. What struck me (beyond the beauty) was the lack of Christmas decorations – which are everywhere here.
Mary Ann Moss says

Mary Ann, I am a day late seeing this lovely, calm, peaceful video. What a perfect sweetness of Venice you have shared here. I love the whole thing, and especially feel aware of the lack of tourists. It feels like we are getting a picture of the real Venice, the one people want to be a part of for their moment there. How clearly you have discovered your own preferred moments for being someplace……offering you the opportunity to be, and us too the chance to wander soulfully with you as our ” angel ” guide. Thank you, Mary Ann. This video is so satisfying in ways that language can’t reach. I loved the quiet views of Venetians towards the close.
Thank you for this meditation in winter.
Briana says
Stunning video. Are you using iMovie for editing? Also, what is it like to record while traveling? Do people look at you like a tourist in any kind of negativity? I loved the shot of the steering wheel on the boat.
Mary Ann Moss says
briana i have thankfully reached the stage in life as an almost 50 year old where i dont care what anyone thinks about what im doing with my camera, but..years ago i was nervous about appearing like a tourist
with my shattered lens i do sort of stand out. ha ha ha
here in venice its inescapable. the city in truth is overrun with tourists most of the time and in certain areas even at this time of year there are plenty walking around.
i feel perfectly okay looking like a tourist because I AM ONE.
i myself find people taking pics of each other and of everything around them quite endearing and lovely.
curious eyes that want to take in the whole world.

Wow – thank you just beautiful.

You literally just brought tears to my eyes and shivers to my body. You are living my dream. Thank you! Awhile ago, I watched a documentary about the rigorous requirements and the history behind being a Gondolier. It is quite fascinating, if anyone is interested in reading up on. Thank you MAM – I adore you!(And the paper was meant for you to find – I don’t doubt that) 🙂
LaurieJay says
I swear I could smell the water and feel the gentle rocking motion of the boat.
Laima says
Beautiful! I was there on Christmas Day 18 years ago… So nice to see same old buildings from the water. Thank you,.
Jeanne says

Finally getting a chance to get caught up. I am swooning over this video and song. Thank you so very much for sharing!
Carol C says
What a wonderful video!!! You have filled me with fantasies of independent traveling…..what music did you use for this film?
ladyinblack1964 says
So funny to see a gondolier in the traditional costume, talking on a cell phone!
I wonder if I would feel seasick while traveling over the water. I sure hope not because Venice is on my list of places to see before I die!
